Former Star Hotel - Beechworth Historic Area Star Youth Hostel 33 Ford Street,, BEECHWORTH VIC 3747 - Property No B0381	The first hotel in Beechworth was opened on this site in 1853 by W H Neuber. J A Wallace purchased the premises in 1857 and erected a long two storey timber structure with a verandah. It was named the Star Hotel and incorporated a theatre seating 500. Star Hotel 2 George Street,, TRARALGON VIC 3844 - Property No B4890	The Star Hotel was constructed in 1875 for F G Hickox on the east side of Traralgon Creek on the then road to Sale. The original weatherboard building with shingle roof contained six guest rooms. With the advent of the railway line, the bias of the town shifted westwards and the Sale road was diverted to the opposite bank of the creek.
